STAB is its own plugin and its own purchase, and BASS never needs it. But own both, open them in the same session, and BASS finds STAB by itself and follows its key, scale and chord roots as they change. No MIDI routing, no sidechain, no menu.

Open STAB on a track.

Pick a key and a style. Hit SLASH until the stab is right.

Open BASS on another.

The sword goes through the fish. That is BASS saying it has found STAB.

Press play.

Change the key or the scale on STAB. BASS follows inside the bar. Hit BITE for a new line in the same key.

Low end

STAB leaves the room. BASS fills it.

Turn LOW CUT on and STAB has no sub. BASS lives in that window, one note at a time. Same keys, same scales, same style names, so the two interlock by construction.

BASS is its own plugin and its own purchase. When it ships it will sit on Gumroad next to STAB at €10, Mac and Windows in one download. If you already own STAB, including a free copy, BASS costs you €7 instead of €10.

Known limits

One note at a time. Lines are one to two bars on a sixteenth grid. No triplet grids.
The link needs STAB 1.0.5 or newer, in the same DAW session on the same computer.
Tested so far in Ableton Live 12 on Windows. The Mac build comes off the same signed and notarised pipeline as STAB.
